We want to make Bizkar a place where we can care for caregivers: a space where they can rest and regain strength to continue their work.
Bizkar is a privileged place that conveys peace, calm, and serenity in an increasingly fast-paced world, where it is not always easy to stay on course or simply stop. In this context, there are people who continue to find time to care for others, reminding us that human beings are, above all, generosity and solidarity. We are social beings and we need to build community.
At Bizkar, we feel a special sensitivity toward those who, in this complex context, decide to dedicate a significant part of their lives to helping others, especially the most vulnerable.
We refer to volunteers from organizations such as Zaporeak, Salvamento Marítimo Humanitario (Aita Mari), and Open Arms, among others. In the case of the first two, organizations born on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea that carry out essential work in the Mediterranean, symbolically connecting both seas—something also reflected in the reconstruction of Bizkar itself.
Their work—saving lives at sea or feeding those who reach land after fleeing desperate situations—inspires deep admiration in us.
For all these reasons, Bizkar wishes to offer itself as a place where volunteers from humanitarian organizations can rest for a few days and recover their strength.
Likewise, we make the farmhouse available to NGOs and organizations working in humanitarian, social, or health and social care fields to host meetings of their management and leadership teams, in an environment that fosters calm, reflection, and inspiration.
